This place is a life saver... helps get you away from the substance with medication and counseling. The Dr is there every Tuesday and there are always very friendly and knowledgeable nurses working daily as well.. Theres also your own counselor who is there to help with any problems you may have.... JTC helped me to stay clean one day at a time for over a year now... I recommend this to all opioid addicted people. Methadone and suboxon give you your life back. And when your ready you can slowly detox of the methadone or suboxon ""If you want""
They have really good staff. And they treat you like a person not like you r beneath them. The only problem is that they have a high turn over on staff.
I transferred from Pensacola and i love this place. They are a great environment to be around.. Especially Meredith ( who works the front desk) I love seeing her!!
I came here from another clinic and have been here almost a year. I love it they go above and beyond for their patients! They now also accept Medicaid patients!
If you want the help an less drama on the streets an want your life back, this place is where to go. Don't judge till you walk that walk!!
My husband and I both are patients at this Clinic, We have been there for approx 2 yrs. We both came from another clinic and we both had a hard time at the clinic we were on . When we came to JTC we were blown away with how much better EVERYTHING was. We have different counselors and we both really like our counselors. My counselor has helped me out a great deal. Great Clinic...
PLEASE READ: JTC is a great clinic in some instances. The staff is friendly, they are not considered a "low dose" clinic, though they don't increase your dose to the point of sedation. You meet with a counselor on a regular basis, however, there isn't any group therapy, which I enjoy and need as a tool in my belt, like methadone itself. Since being on the clinic, I have landed and maintained a great job, w/ a steady source of income, as well as my own housing, and am slowly rebuilding family relationships. My only issue now, in regards to recovery is I do abuse benzo's and sedatives, such as but not limited to; Xanax, Klonopin, Valium, Halcion, Serax, Chloral Hydrate, and rarely barbiturates, as certain barbiturates can deplete you peak levels of methadone causing in some cases withdrawal. (Not with one time use, but with multiple uses) JTC is aware of my benzo problem and have given me many opportunities to correct the behavior. If you are dirty for benzos , they automatically decrease your dose 1 mg every other day until you are clean. Then you stay at that lowered dose until you provide 3 clean urine samples (you can request to be tested at anytime just as long as the urine tests are 7 days apart) They use dipsticks, so no waiting for the results, however you do have 1 regular drug screen a month that is monitored that does go to the lab. The great thing about JTC also, is that if u are "pee" shy, or bladder shy, u can opt to take oral mouth swabs, however it does cost $15.00 for the swab. I personally am on 120 mg of methadone, and I am going inpatient today to detox from benzos. This was my decision and I have had full support of the staff. If methadone is something that you are not interested in, they also have @ window Subutex dosing, however, you have to earn your "take out doses" by being in program compliance, I.E. leaving drug screens, showing up to your individual sessions, paying for your meds, not fighting or selling drugs, etc. Finally, if for some reason you are unable to afford your dose, which was a hard adjustment for me because I came from a clinic that charged $20.00 per week, and if you didn't pay that.....then you didn't pay. You still got your dose, and you got a Sunday take home automatically. That being said, the program compliance was a lot more rigorous, and I.O.P. from 9-12 a.m., or 5:3 - 8:3 p.m. was an absolute must, and then you transition into 1 group per week, and 2 sessions with your social worker. There are pros and cons to both clinics. I am a chronic benzo relapser, so I wish there were more options for group therapy at JTC, however they still have saved my life, and they encourage us to be the best people we can be. BTW, I got off point, at my old clinic Coastal Horizons in Wilmington NC it was @$20 per week and if u paid great, if not...no big deal, they had and have state funding. JTC however is a private clinic so if you don't have the money to dose, you can charge. Day 1, they usually wont drop your dose, but after that, they drop it 20% each day until u pay them off or are detoxed off the program. So if your dose is 100mg, and u charged it would be 80mg. then they would drop 20% of 80mg so then your dose would be 64mg, then if ur charged again it would drop 20% of 64 which would bring down to 51.72, then 41.72, 33.36, and on and on till you are off, or until your bring your balance to 0. After that they increase you by 10mg per day until you are returned to your regular dose. Which is better then a lot of self pay clinics where if you don't pay....you don't dose. I also feel they give u ample time to get your finances together. The Nurses are awesome, the entire staff is as a matter of fact, so I give JTC a 4 out of 5, and if you are really wanting to make a change, I suggest JTC, but also outside mental health help for assistance with things like depression meds, non benzo anxiety meds, etc. And also utilize your counselor. If you just want to get on methadone for the wrong reasons, I still say DO IT, bcuz hopefully it will keep you off the needle. Stuart
I an attending this program now and it is a major help. I can finally love without the cravings of an addict. This is by far the BEST methadone clinic I know about in the Eastern NC.
Love the atmosphere, and also has helped me for years function in society without being a drug addict! I absolutely love the program and my counselor is a great woman/Christian, she helps me through the bad things in life.
As good as you make it
